The UB’s new medical school features eight floors; 628,000 square feet, Interior seven-story glass atrium, terracotta and glass rain screen façade, state-of-the art laboratory space and sky-bridge connections to adjacent hospital, medical building.
FDR Engineers performed structural engineering design and detail drawings for all exterior cold-formed steel wall framing. FDR Engineers also completed Revit BIM models, fabrication drawings and material takeoffs for the light steel framing contractor. Challenges included design and detailing of wide openings, building edges, and unique details to support storefronts with limited available space.
