Holiday Inn Express & Suites

This Holiday Inn is a three-story hotel, predominantly conventional wood-framing with some steel and heavy timber structural elements. Roof framing consists of wood roof trusses and floor framing consists of wood floor trusses. The project is located in the historic town of Custer, South Dakota where a "lodge" feel was desired. Exposed heavy timber construction was used extensively on the ground floor and the porte-cochere. The two-story convention space and pool area also feature heavy timbers and a rock fireplace element.
